Tuckahoe Brewing Co New Old School

What the brewers say

“Bittered with Columbus and dry hopped with Centennial, Cascade, and Falconer’s Flight.”

What our panel thought

“Lingering bitterness isn’t overly aggressive. Both the flavor and aroma have a moderate green-grape note, while the malt takes center stage with a toasty character and some grainy astringency. The hops are floral, citrus-tangerine, and slight tropical with notes of papaya.”

What our editors thought

“Woody stone fruit on the nose—almost _Brett _saison-ish. In the sip, herbal bitterness and vegetal-leaning citrus notes create an interesting interplay of competing high notes, but it feels top-heavy.”

REVIEWS FOR YOU >

Offshoot Beer (The Bruery) Escape [it's your everyday West Coast IPA]

“Sweet herbaceous blend on the nose, black tea and cannabis. Touches of citrus underneath. Sweet malt flavor brings out more cannabis, more citrus, lime zest.”

North Park Beer Co. Inversion of Time

“Dank-forward aromatics with sweet tropical-fruit undertones. In the sip, a supportive dose of pine and booze to balance. Some sweet heat stays fairly well-hidden. Maintains balance thanks to a supportive malt structure and soft mouthfeel.”

New Image Brewing Co Coriolis Effect

“Great hop flavor takes center stage: papaya, guava, white peach, subtle grass. Myrcene and lemon. Light-to-medium creamy body. Very smooth bitterness lingers into the clean finish.”
