Yazoo Brewing Co Foeder Fruits Black Currant and Cherry

What the brewers say

“Oak foeder–aged sour ale with black currants and dark cherries.”

What our panel thought

“Gorgeous nose, with real-deal tart pie cherries getting a light cinnamon-vanilla boost that evokes the almond-like pits as well as cobbler crust. Tart burst of juicy cherry flavor rapidly rolls through a lemon impression into a clean, dry finish. Great fruit expression, added depth, with a lean and tart frame that begs you to keep drinking.”

What our editors thought

“Gorgeous berry notes in the aroma with red-wine restraint. Lower-key berry notes in the flavor, not sweet, as the tannic notes push through with a rich texture.”
