Anchor Brewing Co. Crisp Pilsner

What the brewers say

Wave after wave of refreshment.

What our panel thought

Great foam, brilliant yellow-gold. Subtle but complex nose: herbal, floral, spicy, hints of lime zest, supported by light brioche malt. On the palate, fair bitterness checked by light sweetness. Flashes of herbal-zesty hop and lingering wood-spice. Has some zing, yet cohesive. Sublime. Could drink loads.

What our editors thought

Crackery malt and a bit of herbal hops in the nose. In the sip, a light but attractive malt sweetness offers a friendly approach before it's scrubbed by a bit of hops sleight-of-hand. Like Penn and Teller, we know the mechanics of the trick, but appreciate its thorough execution.
