Burial Brewing Anno Domini MMXX

What the brewers say

"Aged with loads of coconut, freshly zested navel oranges, and ... Madagascar vanilla bean."

What our panel thought

"Creamsicle! Bright orange up front, followed by vanilla and coconut sweetness. Hints of chocolate and roast hiding in the background. Balanced chocolate flavor with orange, marshmallow, and coconut."

What our editors thought

"Oranges and chocolate nose; sharp, acidic, juicy edge. The sip pulls it together remarkably: soft coconut and vanilla soften the fruit's sharper tendencies. Polarizing, thought provoking."

Burial Beer Anno Domini MMXIX

Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, and lemon. The sweet stout and spice character come together quite well, cre-ating the impression of sweet Thai coffee. Bordering on cloying, but complex enough to make it work. The spice character creates a unique and complex beer.

Cerebral Brewing Rye Barrel Aged Trophy Hunt

Nibs poke through chocolate vapor trail; more vanilla, smelling like a high-quality chocolate bar. Light booze and oak. Over-the-top chocolate cake flavor, sweet with significant bitter edge. High alcohols—could be smoother.

Weldwerks Old Fitz Medianoche

Viscous. Barrel-forward aroma with vanilla, oak, dark fudge. Decadent. Sweet flavor: fudge and roast. Barrel adds spice and heat. Not really cloying; massively rich. Alcohol dances around malt, lightening things up.
