Baere Brewing Company Not Forgotten

What the brewers say

A special blend of four barrels containing different saison beers, lightly dry hopped with Sterling, Hallertau Blanc, and Mosaic.

What our panel thought

Sour lactic aroma, lemony, with earthy mushroom and gueuze-like funk. Tart flavor, earthy and woody, with a pleasant umami hint that softens it. Some astringency and tannin. Barrel adds layers without overpowering the beer. Pleasant and interesting, like a wood-accented gueuze.

What our editors thought

Cherry, lemon, oak, and musty cellar in the nose. A somewhat intense acidic lemon note backed by wood-tannin leads the sip, but it quickly resolves into lemon pith and black pepper. Intense and unrelenting, yet endearing.

Roaring Table Brewing Elizabeth

_Brett_ dominates aroma with wood, leather, light fruit, oak-vanilla, and a fresh, piney, spicy-hop edge. Sour flavor, with hops trending toward lemon-citrus. Rounded finish. Not pushing any boundaries, but well executed. Is this beer really better for having _Brett?_

Roaring Table Brewing Dutch Sailors Eyes

“Funky and horsey in the aroma and taste. Complex yeast character—citrus, earth, and pepper. Tart and acidic up front, some light citrus and oak barrel as it opens up.”

Cerebral Brewing Muscle Memory

Pleasant dank-hop aroma—reefer and pine—with a wisp of biscuit-like malt. Balanced flavor, softening the dankness with a hint of shallot, with mild malt layered beneath for a touch of sweetness. Soft bitter finish. Solid, drinkable pale ale.
