“Muted, but intriguing nose with an earthy hoppiness and hints of milk chocolate. Rich and complex without being overpowering. Light notes of dark fruit, peanut butter, toffee, with a pleasant mellow roast finish. Light sweet espresso roast. Nuanced and balanced throughout. Finish seems sweeter than it is. Great drinkability.”

Arizona Wilderness Brewing American Presidential Stout

“Enticing pepper aroma, chocolate notes suggest a molé complexity. The flavors are a balanced blend of cocoa on top of peppers, without much overt heat. Very approachable, with light spiciness lingering in the aftertaste.”

Aroma: “Fantastic hops complexity—tropical fruit, lemongrass, with an underlying spiciness to keep it from having an overly sweet impression. Like the Smithereens: Green Thoughts.” Flavor: “Lemon and orange flavors immediately up front with a light hops bitterness. Lots of tropical fruit— mango, grapefruit, with a pithy earthiness. The body is rich and chewy, but it doesn’t come across overly slick or coating. Very light on the bitterness, however, with a touch of spiciness mixed in.” Overall: “Not a bitter bomb. Nice hops flavors without being over the top. This one does it for me.”

New Belgium Dominga Grapefruit

New Belgium wood cellar blender Lauren Limbach was gifted a new foeder that she aptly named Dominga—a play on the Spanish word for Sunday.
