Main & Mill Brewing Co. Barrel-Aged Imperial Chocolate Peanut Butter Jifforia

What the brewers say

Brewed with peanut butter and cacao nibs. Aged in Four Roses bourbon barrels.

What our panel thought

Huge aroma of peanut butter and chocolate. Intense flavors of each as well. The bourbon is identifiable but not overpowering: just the vanilla tannins and sweet oak. The oily peanut flavor is very pleasant. The oak, va-nilla, and chocolate malt balance it well.

What our editors thought

The wall of peanut nose attacks you with an irresistible aroma of deep roasted nuts. The sip buffers the nut-ty roast with a healthy but economical dose of sweetness, keeping all in check. Rich, sweet, warming, delight-ful.

Roaring Table Brewing Sunburnt Mirth 2020

“Big, sweet chocolate aroma with a slight spicy cinnamon component and hints of whiskey. Flavor presents big, almost cloyingly sweet chocolate and cinnamon. Moderate soy-sauce umami note.”

Liquid Mechanics Brewing Company Marshmallow Milk Stout

“Sweet, sticky white sugar dominates the aroma with a touch of milk chocolate supporting. Medium body balances the high sweetness of the candy-like marshmallow. Pronounced roast malt and bitter chocolate in the flavor.”

Main & Mill Brewing Co. Barrel-Aged Imperial Breakfast Stout 2019

Syrup sweetness, coffee, and spice certainly get the ‘breakfast’ thing down. Great balance of complex char-acters. Sweet on balance without being cloying, with the heat from the alcohol providing balance.
