Belching Beaver Brewery Peanut Butter Milk Stout

What the brewers say

“Cascading aromas of roasted peanuts, dark chocolate, coffee.”

What our panel thought

“Strong peanut nose smells more like peanut flour, with a slight extract quality. The milk stout beneath is rich and full, supporting the adjuncts without being syrupy. Acidity and bitterness bring a nice crispness but detract from the flavors the aroma seems to promise.”

What our editors thought

“Thick peanut-butter and chocolate aroma. The sip toes the sweet line without stepping over, softening the drying effect of the peanut and bumping the chocolate notes without cloying.”
