BKS Artisan Ales Chur Thing

What the brewers say

“Hazy West Coast–style IPA dry hopped with Kohia Nelson and Nelson Sauvin.”

What our panel thought

“Sticky and dank slap you up front, but as you sit with it, papaya and mango are there, too. Velvety mouthfeel and a touch of sweetness work well with the beautifully constructed hop profile.”

What our editors thought

“Zesty nose blends kiwi with fresh floral notes and a bit of forest after the rain. On the palate, pineapple-juice sweetness plays with pineapple bitterness and a light herbal zest for a deftly woven but weightless sip. It soothes and scrubs in equal measure.”

BKS Artisan Ales Current Past (Blue Label)

“Punchy from the get-go. Nose is a strong blend of hop pellets, Lemonheads, white grapes. The flavor is similar but with less dimension. Biscuit malt flavors are a canvas for fruity/piney/slightly herbaceous hops. Firm and satisfying bitterness. Leans sweet, with a full mouthfeel.”

BKS Artisan Ales Meyer Kölsch-Style Ale

“Floral, herbal, citrus-hop bouquet on the nose. More floral, potpourri hop flavors dominate. A Champagne-like impression on the tongue. Dialed-back bitterness lets the hop flavor shine. Crisp finish, with a hint of light grain, a touch of yeast acidity. A creative, modern take on the style.”

Karrikin Spirits Keylime

Alcohol aroma is tequila-ish and rough—surprising, considering its low strength. Lime is there, but not particularly bright. Fairly sweet up front with some lime acidity in the finish. A bit of alcohol burn. Like a carbonated margarita with cheap tequila and sour mix.
