Reuben’s Brews Brettania: Windsor

What the brewers say

"Brett saison dry-hopped with Hallertau Blanc and Loral."

What our panel thought

"Floral, melon nose; tangerine hops up front, with acetic creeping out. Moderate-to-high sourness, kept partly in check by hop bitterness. Ripe peach, white grape, lingering pine and citrus hops. Moderately dry finish with a hint of alcohol warmth. Lively, spicy, complex."

What our editors thought

Crisp linen and white tea, chrysanthemum nose. The sip brings some endearingly bready malt to soften the Brett sharpness, closing with a dry white-wine note."

New Anthem Beer Project BA'AL

“Dank nose, with low hints of grapefruit pith and orange peel popping out of the glass. Big tropical punch, fruity, with some alcohol heat. Appearance is total orange-juice haze. Not over the top—balanced sweetness with the fruit character and a decent bitter base to hold everything together. Complex and rich throughout. Silky mouthfeel all the way through the finish with that ABV well hidden in the background.”

Reuben’s Brews Brettania: Raspberry

Hazy, deep-salmon pour; great head retention. Blackberry, raspberry dominate nose; notes of seeds, herbs, Brett-driven spice and leather. Solid sweetness from the fruit, with a sour, balanced backnote. Light minerality, light raspberry smokiness. Touch of leathery funk for balance. Finishes off-dry, clean, light.

Fair Isle Brewing Knitting Circle - S1.c

“Pepper, citrus notes dominate the nose. Hints of earthiness. Vanilla in the flavor, imparts sweetness to balance the acidity, bitterness. Pleasant dose of funk. Fnishes dry but not aggressively bitter.”
