Burial Beer Co The Shadow of Our Final Days Triple India Pale Ale

What the brewers say

“Made with oats and barley. Triple dry-hopped with Riwaka, Galaxy, Citra, Eldorado, Amarillo Cryo.”

What our panel thought

“Sweet pineapple and tangerine pair well with a soft doughy malt aroma. Sweet, soft, honey-like malt with an herbal note of black pepper, mint, orange blossoms. Alcohol is present. Finishes dry. A subtle triple IPA, if there is such a thing.”

What our editors thought

“Orange-pineapple with a bit of pink cotton candy in the nose, rather high-key and direct. Big pithy bitterness in the sip makes a bold statement as green tropical fruit notes sprout in its long shadow.”

Burial Beer Co Malcontents of Dissonance Triple India Pale Ale

“Misses the tropical-fruit notes and pushes an earthy quality with hints of green coffee. Notes of garlic and resin with medium intensity. Beefy, chewy, but not what I would expect. Flavor keeps the IBUs down with the alcohol providing some sweetness to carry through the high hop profile.”

Burial Beer Co The Comfort And Beauty of the Deliberately Austere Double India Pale Ale

“Lime, lemon pith lead the nose. Pineapple, mango, kiwi make an appearance. Sweet tropical fruit, pineapple, orange, and a hint of banana linger into the medium finish. Balance goes toward bitterness. Fairly classic. Works well.”

Burial Beer Co A Rather Genuine Expression of Apathy Double India Pale Ale with Peach & Lemon

“Earthy and lightly dank in the aroma, with notes of orange, lemongrass, lime, ginger, and a hint of berry. Pleasant grape and stone-fruit flavors with piney hops and a light capsicum burn. Warmth and heft are tempered by the soft mouthfeel.”
