By All Means Beer Oktoberfest
What the brewers say
“Foeder-aged Oktoberfest lager. Smooth and malty with a hint of oak.”
What our panel thought
“Moderately strong vanilla and oak up front, which, combined with the rich toasty bread-crust malt, gives it a bourbon character. Notes of very floral wood and light cinnamon spice. The barrel dominates this beer completely—could use just a bit more body.”
What our editors thought
“Oaky nose with some herbal vanilla and a slight vegetal tinge. It trades lager definition for a broadly accessible, if a touch simple, malt body, but the spicy wood tannins help hold it together.”
