Cape May Brewery Mango Hard Seltzer

What the brewers say

With a hard-seltzer base, all-natural mango juice yields a handcrafted beverage with a bright glow, a light and spritzy mouthfeel, and a bright finish.

What our panel thought

Huge, ripe, fresh-cut mango permeates the aroma as well as the flavor. Carbonation a bit low, with a fairly heavy body for a seltzer and a sweet, syrup-like finish. Strong fruit flavor sticks around. Like biting into a fresh mango.

What our editors thought

Mellow jungle-juice nose with distinct mango and floral notes. Moderately sweet taste—mango seems mild, leaving behind a plainer sugar-water impression. Leans sweet.

Revelry Brewing Co. Hard Seltzer

Orange-forward nose with a hint of mango, light tropical background notes. Nuanced flavor—mango, lemon, orange, grapefruit. Has a more-ish quality. Slightly tart white wine–like character. Finishes dry, with grape notes and a light wash of mango lingering. Strong carbonation. Refreshing.

Firestone Walker Brewing Co STiVO

“Pale yellow in color, unfiltered, with a nice bright white head that lingers. Bright floral hop aroma with a touch of dank in the background. Pleasant soft citrus in both the aroma and flavor is tempered by a moderate and very clean bitterness. A lifting herbal and light melon citrus hop flavor builds, but just when it’s about to reach the upper limit, it lets off the gas and the grainy malt starts to come into balance. Slightly minerally, with a clean, dry finish. Overall, a very fresh and soft quality with a quick and clean finish. Well-crafted with no flaws. Aggressive without hitting the limit.”

Two Roads Brewing Co Raspberry H2Roads Craft Hard Seltzer

Fresh raspberry aroma—tart, and a hint of under-ripeness adds complexity. Carbonation level pops the fruit aromatics. Raspberry notes are not overpowering but don’t require a search party. A touch of sweetness softens the finish. Clean and refreshing with a touch of astringency from the fruit. The real fruit is more interesting than a mere essence.
