What the brewers say

“Brewed with a mix of German specialty dark and crystal malts, Czech Saaz, and fermented with a lager yeast.”

What our panel thought

“Intense malt in the nose—dark toast, light toffee, coffee. An almost Baltic porter–like maltiness—really tasty, smooth, with coffee, subtle chocolate. Just-dry-enough finish, with just enough bitterness to balance the intense malt. Very pleasant and easy to drink.”

What our editors thought

“Dark chocolate, raspberry, and dried wood in the aroma, with a curious tang. Nutty and loose in the sip; soft and meandering but reserved.”
