Central Standard Brewing Gamma Squeeze

What the brewers say

Brewed with European pilsner malt, malted wheat, and toasted oats, fermented cool with our house lager yeast, and dry hopped to the moon with Nelson Sauvin and Grüngeist.

What our panel thought

Heady bud nose, bright, with a slight tinge of lime. Flavor is like hop juice, a fistfight between tropical fruit and bitterness; skunky, gassy, with light licorice and a slight burn. A bit muddy. Super creative, even for an inherently creative style.

What our editors thought

Beautiful diesel-meets-tropical Nelson Sauvin hops define the nose with aplomb. In the sip, hops sing while the base lager stays mostly out of the way. Crisp but not too crisp, direct but not too thin. Beautiful way to capture the power of Nelson Sauvin in lager form.

Halfway Crooks Beer Zero Cool

“Bright lemon, candied lemon, rosemary notes in the aroma. Smooth, crisp flavor, with lemon zest and lemon flesh dominating a low bread backbone. Rosemary notes show up later and linger into a lemony herbal finish.”

Arizona Wilderness Brewing Puffy w/ Passion Fruit

“Captures the essence of dragon fruit with a pleasant soft cider-like tartness to balance, providing fruitiness, subtle spice, and earth notes. And there’s a distinctive beer character with a lightly toasted malt backbone.”

Central Standard Brewing CSB Vienna Lager

“Wonderfully balanced malt aromatics of roast, toast, bread, and cracker are supported by a clean floral hop note. The sip delivers what the aroma promises with a nice layered-but-restrained malt body and a balanced floral and perfume bitterness. Drinks clean and finishes crisp.”
