Deschutes Brewery Jubelale

What the brewers say

“Features notes of spice, a robust malt character, hints of toffee and cocoa.”

What our panel thought

“Aroma offers dark fruit, graham cracker, burnt sugar, roasted malts, toffee, a touch of minerality, some Cascadian hops. Taste leads with caramel and graham cracker that are quickly countered by piney resin and a lasting hop bitterness that doesn’t overpower the delectable dark fruits.”

What our editors thought

“Strong aroma with bits of peach, cherry, and red currant over honey-drenched toast. Big in the flavor as fruitier esters amplify the sweet malt with a significant chocolate bitterness.”

Narragansett Brewing Co White Christmas Winter Warmer

“Playful aroma of orange marmalade, chocolate, and honey. Delectable caramel and fresh-baked pie crust with a tinge of dried fruit. The flavor offers a slight alcohol presence and more of that dark-fruit richness, as well as some brown sugar and an interesting spice profile from ginger and orange peel. The hint of bitterness offers an excellent contrast. The combination of ginger and alcohol warmth offers a really pleasant mouthfeel that defines the idea of a winter warmer.”

Deschutes Brewery Lil’ Squeezy Juicy Pale Ale

Caramel and biscuit notes lead into a nice floral-citrus hop bouquet. Sweet taste, with caramel malt and orange juice, blood orange, pineapple. Good hop flavor. Smooth bitterness lingers well into the finish. Delivers on its promise.

Deschutes Brewery Obsidian Stout

“Aroma of charcoal dust, dark toast, light coffee roast, with hop-forward pine and orange-blossom notes. High carbonation. Lots of deep, dark roasted malt in flavor, with pine, black pepper, bread crust, coffee. Hoppy, with clean bitterness that clears the palate. Rich and satisfying without being overly full or sweet, hop-forward yet maintains its stout character. Very well balanced, nice drinkability.”
