What the brewers say

“Robust roasty maltiness. Finishes dry, with spiciness from the barrel and added rye.”

What our panel thought

“Up front: fig, dried raspberry, black currant, hint of cedar shavings/rye. Soft chocolate, bread-crust malt. Medium-sweet, backed with some solid malt flavor and a fair bit of bitterness. Crispy-edge chocolate brownies. Hint of spicy rye in the finish. Lingering boozy heat.”

What our editors thought

“Cut grass with a fresh fruity edge and spiky caramel-chocolate in the aroma. Round and full sip with broad cocoa-powder notes and a nutty undertone.”
