Perrin Brewing Dragon Fruit Berliner

What the brewers say

“Dragon Fruit Berliner is a session sour brewed with dragon fruit, kiwi, and Michigan hops.”

What our panel thought

“Lightly musty, with some lactic tartness in the background. This serves as a good introduction to the flavor, which turns up the volume of both of these characteristics. The fruitiness is plenty big but doesn’t overshadow the sourness. Finish is astringent and mineral. This is a pretty beer with a pleasantly tart finish.”

What our editors thought

“A savory and borderline smoky nose sets up this lower-key kettle sour that trades fruitiness for a richness that could be confused for a brown-ale body. It’s intriguing yet confounding.”
