What the brewers say

Saphir-dry-hopped pils, with German malt and hops, fermented with Czech pils yeast.

What our panel thought

Hops-dominant aroma—herbal, floral, citrus notes, suggesting American IPL. Citrus hops play a major role in the flavor; soft body, with hints of spicy malt and finish of light toast, white pepper, and ginger. Malt is scarce. Distinctive and drinkable. May pair well with Thai food.

What our editors thought

Bright, zippy floral nose borders on too much. On the palate, gentle grain and neutral malt balance sweet and dry, with a touch of floral hops reappearing in the finish. Subtle and understated in the sip, flamboyant and brash in the nose.
