What the brewers say

By letting this fresh, golden-hued DIPA go unfiltered, the beer takes on a hazy appearance, and its peach and tropical-fruit hops aromas are intensified.

What our panel thought

Big combination of hops bitterness and smooth malt. Hops flavor shows up strongly in aftertaste, woody and spicy. Alcohol medium strong but not oppressive or harsh. Very drinkable and balanced.

What our editors thought

An integrated honey sweetness-meets-herbal-citrus nose is painfully subtle, but a soft and mild herbal bitterness plays against a mild malt sweetness for a softer take on classic American-hops flavor.

Firestone Walker Brewing Co Luponic 18

“Sweet, clear notes of candied orange peel and lemon drop with fainter green-dank notes. A firm, quick, and clean bitterness drives into a dry finish. Crisp as all-get-out. Some carbonic bite. Refreshing, clean, addictive, without being hugely expressive.”

Firestone Walker Brewing Co Mind Haze

“Cotton-candy and grape notes in the nose, with hints of perfume and light floral. Flavor profile is light but fleeting. A wash of chalkiness strips away much of the nuance. As the finish lingers, hints of pine and citrus emerge. APA body encased in hops.”

Hop Butcher For the World Satan's Mile

Earthy pine and bright orange-citrus aromas clash in a classic way; background hints of toasted malt, onion, and peppery spice. Flavor brings freshly peeled orange-hop atop a bread-crust-malt foundation. Bitterness is restrained, tempered by caramel. Dry finish, undefined, with mild astringency.
