Standard Brewing Faithful and True

What the brewers say

"Saison aged in wine barrels with Brettanomyces and bottle conditioned."

What our panel thought

"Aroma is a bit subdued, but there’s some fun stuff going on: strawberry, raspberry, lemon, white wine, a touch of sweaty pineapple. Hints of caramel, tobacco, pear mid-palate. Nice carbonation, dry finish. Fairly light and simple, but pleasant and very drinkable."

What our editors thought

"Lightly floral and earthy with a tightly edited noble hops nose. The sip is a tight balance of hop bitterness and mild Brett, with a subtle white-wine dry/sweet note as it lingers."

Cellar West Artisan Ales Gin Barrel Checkerback

“Spicy cinnamon or allspice with juniper, wood, and moderate floral and perfumy notes. Bergamot orange esters. Spicy, sweet, and warming flavor with lingering cedar and dried figs or cherries. Strong gin botanical flavors.”

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. Barrel No. 64

Lovely—bright gold with lush foam. Soft aroma with stone fruit, lemon-lime, light spice, nutty grain, and low, earthy, gueuze-like funk. Gently tart acidity finds harmony with soft bitterness on fluffy carbonation; bright stone-fruit notes in the foreground, lemon-limeade at mid-stage, with a grassy-earthy funk backdrop. Dry finish, lingering stone fruit. Round and harmonious. Beautifully balanced, refreshing. Fabulous.

Von Ebert Brewing Angular Momentum

Grassy, earthy hops notes lead into white wine, spice, pineapple, tangerine, lemon, and Brett funk. Moderately sweet on creamy body, with moderate acidity; oranges, strawberry and pear in the flavor. Finish is quite dry, almost tannic green tea and oak.
