Firestone Walker Brewing Co Hippie Highway 2.0

What the brewers say

“Featuring Riwaka, Nelson, Ekaunot Cryo for big hits of dank tropical fruit. A blend of malted and honey oats.”

What our panel thought

“Muted orange nose. On the tongue, rounded raspberry, smooth pineapple, and orange fade to light graininess in the finish. Slightly sweet with a moderately tempered bitterness.”

What our editors thought

“Light orange in the nose with a tannic berry edge that keeps it honest. Juicy in the flavor with bits of pineapple and orange, semisweet with a faint woody structure that pulls some herbal tones from the voluminous citrus.”

Brewskey Pub & Taproom Singularity Citra

“Funky overripe melon and pineapple in the nose. A firm bitterness, some dank, diesel hop flavor followed by fresh melon. Just a slight sharpness fades away into softer flavors and a lasting sweeter finish.”

Firestone Walker Brewing Co Psychedelic Arcade

“Bright candied orange nose with an almost Fruity Pebbles note. Flavor echoes the candied tangerine notes, with light bread supporting. More perfumy than grassy, but both are there. A dry finish plays well with bright and earthy flavors.”

Firestone Walker Brewing Co Hopnosis

“A beautiful bright gold in color; fluffy white head lingers. Nose has notes of toasted pine, citrus, blackberries, light black pepper. Citrus and pine intermingle in a balanced dance in aroma and flavor. Sappy pine doesn’t linger; moderate-plus bitterness fades into melon and marmalade. An almost pillowy mouthfeel really works well with these softer hop flavors, balanced by assertive bitterness. Nicely balanced finish, with a slight sweetness that leaves the tongue quickly and has you coming back for more. Really well executed.”
