Firestone Walker Brewing Co Mind Haze Light

What the brewers say

“Light and hazy, with hints of citrus. A low-calorie IPA with full flavor and high drinkability for the health-minded drinker.”

What our panel thought

“The aroma is a bouquet of mango and tangerine, with lemon and white bread behind it. Light-bodied with a tropical-fruit wave: papaya, mango, and pineapple drizzled with honey. Finishes clean with an aftertaste of mango and papaya and some very light sweet malt. Fruit Stripe Gum in a glass.”

What our editors thought

“Nectarine with a light grainy note in the nose. The sip trades tropical bliss for a dry malty middle-ground, avoiding expectations.”

Firestone Walker Brewing Co Double Mind Haze

“Compelling nose with notes of bubblegum, cotton candy, tangerine, and orange peel. Soft, elegant, cloud-like body. Flavors of orange, tangerine, and grapefruit with just a bit of diesel and pepper. Finish mostly dry, with a nice drop off in hop flavor.”

Firestone Walker Mind Haze

The pleasant citrus hops aroma has a bit of fresh-squeezed character. In the flavor, this picks up a creami-ness reminiscent of Orange Julius. Some mild pine notes come through. The malt supports this without get-ting too cloying, softening the mild bitterness in the finish.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co Sunny Little Thing

“Lemon and orange notes in the aroma are complemented by tropical notes of pineapple and sweet grapefruit. The same notes carry into the flavor, well-supported by a bready malt sweetness. Hop flavor seems both tropical and floral with grassy notes.”
