Hill Farmstead Florence

What the brewers say

"Belgian-inspired wheat ale."

What our panel thought

"Soft nose of tangerine, white grape, lemon, pineapple, subtle grain, light crackery malt—nothing strong, but citrus-forward. Nuanced, moderate acidity, lightly fruity with hints of watermelon, citrus, with a juicy quality."

What our editors thought

"Perfumey floral nose of azalea and hibiscus, oaked white wine. Flavor balances sweet lime and yuzu, mild hop bitterness, a slight honey-malt sweetness. Characterful, light."

Yazoo Brewing Brett Saison

Zesty as hell—lemon-lime, white pepper, berries, wood, dry hay. Bright, crisp flavor; beautiful balance of light fruit, hints of pine and citrus, with a light spiciness that persists through the finish. Woody Brett notes in aftertaste. Pleasingly dry, with medium tartness balancing the limited residual malt. Light and refreshing despite the complexity, this is a fantastic beer.

Von Ebert Brewing Islands in the Stream

“Tropical soap perfume—papaya, melon, dried peach, and strawberry—meld with pepper and clove spice. The malt sweetness carries pleasantly complex hop notes that combine hints of old-school Noble character with a fun tropical twist. There’s just enough phenolic spice to round things out, and the dry finish is a pleasant palate cleanser.”

Westbound & Down Solera Saison + Dry Hop

Big hops up front: grapefruit, pineapple, orange, pine. Also spicy melon, esters mingling and complementing fruit-forward hops. Some astringent bitterness in finish. Flavor has orange, banana peel, bready malt, grassy hop. Lively.
