What the brewers say

“An Appalachian adjunct lager brewed with heritage corn, fresh lime, local watermelon, salt, and Tajin.”

What our panel thought

“The nose is enchantingly festive—spicy Tajin, fresh watermelon, and lime ready to party in your mouth. A bit of salt puckers the mouth before the watermelon rushes in as a real quencher, followed by some corn-chip aspects, a tiny bit of playful heat, and a finish that begs for more sips.”

What our editors thought

“Beautifully succinct aroma, with pointed watermelon notes and just a touch of citrus edge—even the aroma feels ‘crisp’ and focused. The sip finds a next level of cohesion as the light-beer body (with subtle corn-lager notes) delicately darts into the open space behind the real and natural fruit notes. Achieving such a beautiful balance with an effortless and natural feel in a beer this light is a master stroke.”
