Untitled Art Forward Hazy IPA

What the brewers say

"Hazy IPA with Citra, Cashmere, and Ella hops."

What our panel thought

"Moderate orange, grapefruit, peach, apricot—a bit subtle. In the flavor, more vanilla with stone fruit and berries. Moderate sweetness—bread and pie crust—fades into moderate bitterness; orange, pineapple, mango flavors. Somewhat chalky. Medium-plus body, creamy mouthfeel."

What our editors thought

"Tropical fruit goes floral in the nose, with a bit of smoothie sweetness. The sip is flatter, with a one-dimensional fruit sweetness, lightly prickly bitterness, and oddly watery body for an imperial-strength beer."

Untitled Art Tangerine Milkshake IPA

Big, vibrant, tangerine-Creamsicle aroma; assertive alcohol spiciness. Tangerine tartness pairs well with bitterness to almost balance the vanilla; finishes with a lingering sweet coating. Hops blend well with fruit to create a pleasant, lingering aftertaste. Nice, bright tangerine character, pretty sweet overall. A bit lacking in complexity.

Perennial Artisan Ales Something in the Orange

“A pillowy head invites you in for a tame lemonade, candied tangerine, tea-like aroma. Little maltiness, and a surprisingly muted flavor of black tea and fruit punch. Well-balanced mouthfeel. Finishes very dry.”

Spice Trade Brewing Sun Temple IPA

__Aroma:__ “Red berry, concord grape, fruit leather, orange vanilla creamsicle with a touch of mango and pineapple. There’s a slight earthiness and black pepper spice. Strong mix of malt and bubblegum. Smells like Chinook, Centennial, and Cascade hops.” __Flavor:__ “Caramel malts are strong in the flavor, but a present bitterness helps round it out. It’s missing the juicy component NE IPA is known for. Tastes very PNW IPA style (resinous). Orange, lemon, mango, pineapple hops characteristics with a touch of vanillin and light floral notes beneath. Body is a bit thin, and that is accentuated by how dry the beer finishes. Carb is good. Significant bitterness throughout, but it fades with a slightly sweet kiss.” __Overall:__ “Not as hazy as most NE IPA, more focused on Old School hops and malt but with the estery component mixed in. Overall too bitter, but the hops profile is well executed and complex. Not one I would want many of, but I’d finish the pint.”
