Good Word Brewing & Public House Toque
What the brewers say
“Tasty little barleywine where we used a ton of oats.”
What our panel thought
“Sweet caramel dominates the muted aroma. Ester-forward with plum and apricot. A hint of alcohol and acetyl appears as it warms. Strong malt-forward flavor—caramel, toast, and a low chocolate note. Clean alcohol grows a bit hot in the finish. Primed for aging.”
What our editors thought
“Cinnamon and strawberry on the nose, with warm caramel notes, and a faint hint of tree leaf. The sip plays a dry caramel against light woody bitterness; classic and cleanly executed.
