What the brewers say

“Our Světlý Ležák 12º, triple-decocted and brewed with Moravian malt and whole-leaf Bohemian Saaz hops.”

What our panel thought

“Mild toast on the nose. A big caramel and biscuit malt character, immediately chewed up by a firm bitterness and punch of Noble hop flavor. Finishes off-dry. Quite tasty and a well-crafted bold beverage.”

What our editors thought

“Gorgeous foam, great deep gold color. Toasty nose with a touch of floral, light but full in the sip, perfect hint of bitterness for structure. Excellent and true to the intended style.”

Green Bench Brewing Co Postcard Pils

Brilliant yellow-gold. Lovely nose rounds herbal-floral-zest hops with light, pure, sweet malt into a familiar gestalt. On the palate: Clean, lightly bready malt meets spicy-herbal hop flavor and a balancing bitterness. Nice and round, with enough body to hold that hop flavor. Finishes clean, softly bittersweet, with lingering spicy bitterness that compels further gulps. Dials up character a half-notch, never disrupting that harmonious whole. Give it to me in a dimpled mug and leave me alone a while.

Green Bench Brewing Co Up In Smoke

“Nice woodfire smoke character in the nose, resinous and meaty but not ashy. Cracker-like malt aromatics and floral hops. Finely balanced flavor, as sweet grainy malt adeptly stands up to the smoke. Floral and perfume-like hop bitterness. Finishes clean and crisp.”

Green Bench Brewing Co Travel Set

“Mellow herbal aroma. Light earthy, Mexican oregano–like herbal hops, Hawaiian bread rolls, and a clean off-dry finish. Slightly sweet, tempered by a light bitterness. An overall softer profile. A good softer, malt-forward approach.”
