Side Project Grisette

What the brewers say

"Aged in wine barrels with Brettanomyces for six months."

What our panel thought

"Inviting aroma: grass, lemon, pepper, bready barnyard. Funk is present but subdued; quite tart. Effervescence helps to give it a clean, crisp mouthfeel. Simple, with no wow factor."

What our editors thought

"Light orange citrus and linen on the nose. The sip is less precise, with broad orange-lime notes and a bit of Brett spice. Big flavor for a small beer; drinks sweet despite its dryness."

Side Project Brewing Grisette

Bright citrus, tart cherry, and stone fruit aromatics blend with hints of leather, spice and funk, creating a lively nose. The flavor is a bit more subdued with hints of apple and pear playing off a peppery spice note, but it all comes together harmoniously with just enough acidity to notice but not distract.

Side Project Brewing Le Saisonnier

Funky bouquet of citrus pith, earth, leather, peach, vanilla, and hints of sour cherry. Gently tart flavor with soft, pillowy malt and round funky-yeasty flavors that play nicely together. Subtle oak and grape-like notes. Delicate, dry, stone-fruit finish. Get me a big bottle of this with cheese and crackers.

Barrique Brewing & Blending Grisette: Citra & Nelson (Blend 2)

“Inviting grapefruit aroma with an underlying _Brett_ tone followed by layers of spice and pepper phenolics. Yeast-driven flavor profile with a punch of lactic acid, vibrant citrus notes. Bright, crisp mouthfeel with a lingering sweet tart finish.”
