Schofferhofer Hefeweizen Grapefruit

What the brewers say

“A combination of Schofferhofer Hefeweizen with grapefruit flavoring.”

What our panel thought

“Well-made, exceptionally drinkable. Sweet, slightly cloying. Solid natural grapefruit juice and peel flavor. The equal intensities of sweetness and grapefruit citrus play off each other, with the sweetness winning out in a distinctly rich, citric finish.”

What our editors thought

“The intense orange color tells you exactly what this beer intends to be. It’s sweet. It’s not hefe-like in the least. It’s a slightly alcoholic soda with a vaguely hefe base, but it’s better than those adjectives suggest thanks to the quality of fruit flavor.”

DESTIHL Brewery Weissenheimer Hefeweizen

“Slightly grainy, fresh-baked bread nose, followed by restrained and balanced banana and clove. Subtle sweetness mingles with floral and pepper-like spicy bitterness in the flavor with a nice soft mouthfeel to support it. Finishes quite dry as the bitter side outbalances the sweet notes.”

Lawson’s Finest Liquids Ruby Red Grapefruit Double Sunshine

Semihazy with lingering grapefruit aromas that transcend into a well-executed balance of grapefruit and malt character. The grapefruit and the hops complement each other well while the malt bill supports and rounds out the picture. Semidry finish begs for another sip.

Wasatch Blueberry Hefeweizen

“Dominant blueberry. The earthiness of a fresh blueberry works well within the canvas of the base beer. A slightly thin body is the only possible knock against this otherwise unique, tasty beer.”
