Zebulon Artisan Ales House Saizon

What the brewers say

"Fermented with our house saison blend. Dry-hopped."

What our panel thought

"Massive billowy head; complex hop and yeast aroma of citrus, pine, melon, chamomile, tangerine, black pepper, bubblegum. Dry, moderate acidity. Grassy hops and a bit of Brett funk before the dry, almost tannic finish."

What our editors thought

"Perfumey apple blossom, white rose, chrysanthemum, dry white wine. The sip takes a sharp turn toward hop bitterness (happily), with light funk and vivid carbonic bite."

Pure Project Everything Gold May Stay

Raspberry dominates aroma. Light, simple acidity. Hint of raspberry smoky notes. Light notes of sour cherry. Solid, strong acidity. Finish very dry. Tartness and fruit linger.

Baere Brewing Company Not Forgotten

Sour lactic aroma, lemony, with earthy mushroom and gueuze-like funk. Tart flavor, earthy and woody, with a pleasant umami hint that softens it. Some astringency and tannin. Barrel adds layers without overpowering the beer. Pleasant and interesting, like a wood-accented gueuze.

Hill Farmstead Florence

Soft nose of tangerine, white grape, lemon, pineapple, subtle grain, light crackery malt—nothing strong, but citrus-forward. Nuanced, moderate acidity, lightly fruity with hints of watermelon, citrus, with a juicy quality.
