Line Creek Brewing First Crush

What the brewers say

“Amarillo, Centennial, Mosaic, Simcoe make a juicy, slightly hazy IPA.”

What our panel thought

“Herbal spicy hop aroma: mango, papaya, tropical notes, soft grassy vanilla notes. Fairly hazy. Restrained bitterness. Strong tropical and citrus hop flavors: passion fruit, orange, tangerine with light pine and grassy flavors. Simple biscuit-forward malt backing. Bitterness emerges in the finish but evaporates quickly.”

What our editors thought

“Light green tropical fruit with vaguely Noble floral notes in the nose. Classic and refined in the sip, timeless.”

Line Creek Brewing Kickstand

“Papaya, banana-led nose. Touch of strawberry as it warms. Light cherry, strawberry-led hop flavors, with touches of melon and pineapple, and a finish of orange candy. Bitterness and sweetness are nicely balanced. A light maltiness and a warming underneath provide some depth.”

Pinthouse Brewing Tommy Try Mosaic

“Orange peel, tangerine, light pine and grass, papaya, pineapple on the nose. Hop flavor dominates with orange/lemon peel, tangerine, light lime zest, hints of pine, black pepper. Firm bitterness.”

BKS Artisan Ales Space Nelson

“Ripe red fruit and dank aroma with a cannabis-like quality. Flavors of peaches, mandarin orange, and a touch of dank. Sweetness and bitterness are nicely balanced. Doesn’t stay on the tongue too long and leaves you wanting more.”
