What the brewers say

"Hop forward and Roasty? A balancing act that is a pleasure to drink!"

What our panel thought

"Light toasted graham cracker, damp earth, and hints of licorice in the aroma. Sweet malt with subdued hop character, this beer has a milk chocolate tendency. Lively hops sprout from the dark logs laying inside of this beer. Hop bitterness keeps the beer in check with a lasting drying quality."

What our editors thought

"Charred wood and a touch of smoke overpower the softer forest notes in the aroma, with very faint orange overtones. That turns around in the sip, as the sweet body amplifies the citrus, overpowering the loose spruce bitterness."

REVIEWS FOR YOU >

Mikerphone Brewing The Black IPA Parade

“Chocolate bomb! Boozy and dark. Fireside sipper, but sans the sweet balance. Bitter dark chocolate of the malts in both aroma and flavor. With a clean finish, woody hops come through in the aftertaste.”

Pondaseta Brewing Co. I Seek A Darkness

“Dark chocolate, floral rosehip differentiate this one. The malt comes through with a touch of sweetness and ends with hop bitterness. Bright and clean. Not punchy, but smooth, slick roastiness makes it easy to throw back.”

Line Creek Brewing Pathrunner

“Complex toasted-coconut aroma with clean malt and fermentation character. Flavor consists of a base of corn and layers of toasted coconut that lend a toasted-corn-chip quality. Although not highlighted, the hops balance well.”
