Natchez Brewing Co Sticky Slicker

What the brewers say

“A complex malt bill creates a rich, decadent, complex beer that features layers of bittersweet, dark, milk chocolate.”

What our panel thought

“Medium-strength baker’s chocolate, with some background notes of toffee, biscuity malt, macadamia nut. Vanilla vertices are very soft. The flavor falls short of the aroma as vanilla melds in the background of the layered chocolate character and gets lost in the shuffle. Enjoyable but unpolished. Finishes semisweet but doesn’t know what it is.”

What our editors thought

“Mocha nose with caramel midtones and a faint dark-chocolate note. Light caramel coffee in the sip with a light body for the ABV, smooth and curiously drinkable.”

Natchez Brewing Co That Denver Trip

“Smoke aroma blends smoothly with the malt—the sweetness of Munich malt complements the smoked-meat character. Smoke stays at the forefront in the flavor with nice malt complexity to buoy it. A hint of floral hops emerges mid-palate before it’s engulfed in campfire-like smoke.”

Liquid Mechanics Brewing Company Marshmallow Milk Stout

“Sweet, sticky white sugar dominates the aroma with a touch of milk chocolate supporting. Medium body balances the high sweetness of the candy-like marshmallow. Pronounced roast malt and bitter chocolate in the flavor.”

Twin Barns Brewing Company McGuigan's Stout

“Very light aromas of roast malt, coffee, piney and earthy hops, and a touch of mint. The roast, dark chocolate, coffee malt flavors are quite delicate. The bitterness is just as soft and the body is light, creating a very clean and simple yet unassuming package.”
