NoDa Brewing Co - NE Brizo Spiked Seltzer: Raspberry Lemon

What the brewers say

We use pilsner malt, whole fruit, zest, and fresh ingredients in our craft spiked seltzer, so you know exactly where everything in it comes from.

What our panel thought

Hazy pink. The nose offers candied raspberry with cherry hints; green herbal seedy notes suggest real fruit. Light, pleasant raspberry flavor backed by clean, mineral-forward seltzer. Dry finish; a touch of astringent raspberry lingers. Refreshing.

What our editors thought

Woody raspberry note on the nose with light spice. The dry sip gingerly steps over the tannic line, defeating perceptions of sweetness and leaving it a touch astringent. Beautiful color, but the flavor doesn’t quite deliver.

Two Roads Brewing Co Raspberry H2Roads Craft Hard Seltzer

Fresh raspberry aroma—tart, and a hint of under-ripeness adds complexity. Carbonation level pops the fruit aromatics. Raspberry notes are not overpowering but don’t require a search party. A touch of sweetness softens the finish. Clean and refreshing with a touch of astringency from the fruit. The real fruit is more interesting than a mere essence.

Genesee Brewing Honey Brown

Rich honey aroma, light grainy malt, subtle floral hops. Beautiful, straw colored, and crystal-clear. Easy-drinking flavor: fruity honey, light acidity, low hop-bitterness. Berry-soda-like flavor. Sweetness lingers.

Fonta Flora Brewery The Pearl

“A bit sweeter with more esters than expected for a pils, but quite drinkable. Light hints of floral and pine hide behind dank and musty notes in the aroma. Just a hint of wood-like character. Oddly crisp and finishes on the sweeter side of bitter.”
