Perennial Artisan Ales Saison Lounge

What the brewers say

“Brewed with rye and spelt and hopped with Nelson Sauvin.”

What our panel thought

“Lemon and grapefruit notes in the aroma with a hint of funk. Lemon peel, candi sugar, light grain. A dry phenolic note in the sip emerges early, accentuates the bitterness, and lends a light astringency. Piney hop notes elevate the bitterness into the finish.”

What our editors thought

“Orange blossom honey aroma with guava and lychee, cottony and soft. Tighter dry white floral in the flavor with a Noble herbal bitterness that drives its high energy. Classically precise with an engaging intensity.”

Abandoned Building Brewery Lola's Belgian Farmhouse Saison

“Hay and lemongrass with hints of banana hit the nose first. A sweet, funky amalgamation of herby, citrusy spice. PIllowy peppercorn with floral grace notes. Biscuity malt lays the groundwork for effervescent carbonation and a bitter finish. A minerality to the aftertaste.”

Perennial on Lockwood Second Orbit

“The aroma gives a spicy, woody first impression—coriander and fruity esters. Lightly tart flavor with lemon notes. Some wood tannins in the finish. Light bready malt leaves a slight sweetness in the finish. Medium hop bitterness.”

Perennial Artisan Ales Hainaut

Bright gold with lush foam and lace. Bright Noble-hop aroma, spicy and grassy, with Sprite-like lemon-lime notes and clean, bready malt. Soft smoke-and-spice phenolics. Soft, light, grainy flavor, with simple but pleasant herbal-grassy bitterness and notes of pepper and light fruit. Lively. Fairly bitter. Dry finish with lingering pepper-spice. Tastes like a well-made pilsner given an expressive fermentation. Very nice.
