What the brewers say

“Riwaka and Motueka hops join forces with an experimental hop known for its fruity flavors, HBC 586, in this foggy, pale-colored creation.”

What our panel thought

“Nose of bitter orange peel, ripe mango, pine, and a low, provocative minty note. The flavor has lesser hop impact. Soft, velvety mouthfeel; the malt could have pushed this further, but for distracting tinges of alcohol and hop burn. Quite enjoyable.”

What our editors thought

“Green papaya note—crisp, lush, peppery—like a Thai fruit salad that avoids saccharine clichés. Gentle but spritely sip, brisk and sparkly, with a lingering, unsweet papaya note.”

Pure Project Forgotten Brilliance

“Piney forest aromas dominate the nose, with brown sugar, light figs, wet grain. Heavy tones of caramel malt wrapped in vibrant dark-fruit notes. Sweet malt finish with a warming alcohol presence.”

Pure Project Super Beta

“Zesty citrus nose with tropical punch; notes of herbal hops, pine, peppery spice. In the flavor, resinous hops take the lead with citrus in support. Soft yet firm malt base. Finish leans bitter, but not harsh, with bright pops of orange and lemon.”

Pure Project Built to Last

“Mint, sage, and savory hop bouquet dominates the aroma. Medium-low bready and crackery malt balanced with a hint of corn sweetness on the finish. Dry and soft on the palate. Clean fermentation. So much fun in a crushable little beer.”
