Russian River Brewing Co Peach Beer

What the brewers say

“Barrel-aged peach beer using 6 lbs of peaches per gallon.”

What our panel thought

“Big ripe peach aroma, along with a hint of honey. Green tobacco note distracts. Medium tangerine and citric-acid notes in the flavor with a lingering peach character and a fairly dry finish. Pleasant but a bit rough on the edges.”

What our editors thought

“Gorgeous soft and powdery peach on the nose, lightly dusted with a bit of lemon zest. The sip is soft peach juice, very subtle acidity, and a demure but confident peach character.”

The Dudes' Peach Berliner Weisse

**Aroma:** “The strong peach notes, like peach juice, are very inviting. Some mango and sweetness, with some sourness and spice as the head dissipates. Light acidity, and no hops aroma.” **Flavor:** “The thick, sweet peach character is very present throughout the taste. Tartness hides behind the flavor and comes through subtly, with a touch of dissonance. Carbonation is moderate, but could be a bit higher to counter the heavier body. The end of the sip is light and sour, but the finish is very sweet.” **Overall:** “Very peach-forward, bordering on too strong, and the characteristic tartness of kettle sours is very mild by comparison. Perhaps more carbonation would also help bring in more complexity. However, it’s still a very drinkable beer and the fruit-forward flavor and mild acidity are great for those who may not think they like sour beers.”

Russian River Brewing Co - Santa Rosa STS Pils

Brilliant lasting head. Crisp, spicy hop character out front, with floral, citrus, and raw grain notes. Pronounced malt flavor throughout—clear, dry toasted notes with subtle, layered sweetness. The bitter-and-sweet balance of hops and grain flourishes on the tastebuds. Finish is fairly aggressively bitter, with a grassy lingering aftertaste. Bright throughout, trends toward bitter, but that works.

The Lost Abbey Peach Afternoon

Lovely peach/apricot/mango aroma. Bright, fresh mouthfeel packed with peach/apricot jam. A thin line of lactic acidity weaves its way through the fruit stand of flavor. Refreshing, tart, light, semidry.
