Odell Brewing Sippin' Pretty

What the brewers say

“Loaded with our unique blend of açai, guava, and elderberry, and balanced with a delicate addition of Himalayan pink sea salt.”

What our panel thought

“Complex, almost disorienting tropical fruit–forward aroma with loads of passion fruit, guava, and pineapple. Flavor is a nondescript mashup of tropical notes that comes off like Hawaiian Punch. Restrained tartness creates a crispness to help avoid syrupy sweetness. Pith-like astringency and light spice character on the finish. Sourness is a bit too restrained.”

What our editors thought

“Bold tropical guava on the nose is equal parts funky and fun. The sip muddles into a soft and ill-defined middle ground.”

Odell Brewing Sippin' Pretty

“Big tropical guava, but it doesn’t overwhelm the complexity. The flavor introduces some elderberry tang and gose salt but ultimately proves to be a good reflection of the nose. Refreshing, fruity, and expressive, this beer is all about the tropical sunshine.”

Parish Brewing Co. Greetings From Holly Beach

“Murk and haze look more at home in the world of IPAs. Aroma is unique, with earthy, tropical notes competing for domination. Earthy coconut meat and milk flavors integrate well with tropical nectar-like sweetness, evoking a tropical cocktail.”

Anderson Valley Brewing Co. Framboise Rose Gose

“Muddled raspberry and dried red chilies dominate the nose. First impression was raspberry seltzer cut with a bit of lime. A hint of salt in the last bit of flavor—like the watery salt from an almost-empty margarita.”
