What the brewers say

“Intense peach and citrus hop aromas.”

What our panel thought

“Aroma offers tropical fruit mixed with dank and catty, lightly bready malt. That combination persists into the flavor, but the intensity lessens. Fruity esters boost the tropical impression. Body is light, crisp, without excessive bitterness. Aftertaste shows earthy, dank notes and a lingering bitterness.”

What our editors thought

“Bright bold thiol-driven hop notes in the nose, tropical with a guava-lychee vibe. Softer in the sip, as malt notes with a bit of earthy tropical bitterness push forward. Not nearly as intense in the sip as the nose suggests.”

“Clean and bright. Inviting dank, artisanal pine soap in the nose. More dank pine in the flavor and just enough malt backbone to give some balance. More citrus and bubblegum hop flavors as it warms. Great mouthfeel. A pleasant amount of bitterness lingers on the tongue. A deft hand balanced these flavors.”

Great Notion Juice, Jr.

__Aroma:__ “Big orange, nectarine, and lemon, with tropical fruits, pineapple, and mango—verges back and forth between candied fruit/creamsicle and a fresh tropical buffet. An earthy dankness emerges, adding a nice layer of complexity. The hops bitterness lingers.” __Flavor:__ “Grapefruit, orange peel, and citrus hops flavors with a subtle amount of dank hops. Juicy hops dominate with just enough sweet malt to balance. The fruity hops punch becomes more complex the longer it sits on the tongue. Lighter body than expected but the body grew as it warmed. Finishes with a moderate bitterness of dank hops, and the dryness makes for a crushable beer.” __Overall:__ “Very easy drinking—makes you want more after each sip. The slight lingering sweetness on the finish is clipped off by the bitterness before it becomes distracting, and the bitterness lingers for quite a while after the sip. A deft use of hops that doesn’t abuse the palate so much that you’re wrecked for another pint (or two).”

**Aroma:** “Fresh tropical fruit—mango and pineapple—with a touch of light tangerine citrus. Some esters of berry or stonefruit. Light malt is bready and delicate. Slightly catty and piney hops aroma. Catmint and catnip aroma. A bit piña colada–like, along with earthy undertones.” **Flavor:** “Full assertive hops flavor— resinous and sticky with earthy, grassy notes from dry hopping. Bitterness might be a tad low, but nice. Hops are catty and dank with a bit of skunk.” **Overall:** “Tastes like fresh hops. Lots of juicy tropical hops flavors—is that Mosaic? Very tasty—easy drinking without being boring. Some drinkers will lock into this hops profile and feel right at home, even though my palate is not as big a fan. A pleasant and harmless beer that won’t distract you from the task at hand—drinking lots and lots of it.”
