Blended from all five spontaneous batches on June 18, 2019, and bottle-conditioned for seven months.

What our panel thought

Somewhat muted aroma with stone fruit, mango, guava, lemon, and vinegar. One-dimensional, acetic flavor: mild tropical fruit, medium acidity, as chalky mineral lingers. Fairly puckering. Strong fruit character is nice. Off-putting acetic notes.

What our editors thought

Lemon-caramel on the nose with gentle Bretty funk—deft in approach, yet satisfying. The sip is almost weightless, pushing forward sparkling mineral, hay, lemon, and funk. Smartly blended, vivacious, spirited.

New Belgium Dominga Grapefruit

New Belgium wood cellar blender Lauren Limbach was gifted a new foeder that she aptly named Dominga—a play on the Spanish word for Sunday. Parabola is always a beast of a beer, with intense flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla, and roast coffee—yet each annual release also bears its own subtle imprint.
