Urban South Sunshine Haze Dream

What the brewers say

"Creamsicle milkshake IPA that we dry hopped with Citra and Comet, then aged on tangerine juice and vanilla bean."

What our panel thought

"Citrus and vanilla combine for rich, sweet Creamsicle nose; like muddling a vanilla bean with a tangerine twist. Pleasant tartness and light hop burn cut the sweetness; zest and pith almost cut the heavy vanilla. Rides low on the axle. Would work with Thai food."

What our editors thought

"Over-the-top orange and vanilla cream in the nose. Sip is intensely sweet—past the most liberal definitions of IPA. Could work if the beer offered some balancing bitterness."

Perennial Artisan Ales Something in the Orange

“A pillowy head invites you in for a tame lemonade, candied tangerine, tea-like aroma. Little maltiness, and a surprisingly muted flavor of black tea and fruit punch. Well-balanced mouthfeel. Finishes very dry.”

Crooked Run Group Therapy

Complex citrus—zesty lime, orange, lemon. Chewy mouthfeel, with pleasant, citrus-accented sweetness that balances the low bitterness. A bit muddled; wouldn’t mind a drier finish.

Crooked Stave Mandarin Dream

Sweet citrus on the nose; earthy wheat. Pleasant citrus, sweet caramel, echoes of vanilla. Hint of residual sweetness fades to a dry, grassy finish. Hops balance well against fruity complexity. Good Creamsicle IPA.
