Suzie’s Organic Hard Seltzer Peachy

What the brewers say

Remember what it was like to bite into a plump juicy peach fresh off the tree? That memory brought us back to Georgia in search of organic, natural flavor.

What our panel thought

Crystal clear and sparkling. Artificial extract-peach aroma with floral notes, fluffy, hinting at cotton-candy sweetness. Flavor has light peach and heavy, floral perfume-like notes. Medium sweetness. Perfumy, artificial tasting.

What our editors thought

Clear with fat bubbles. Sweet, fake, peach-essence aroma. Perfumy peach flavor is vaguely off-putting. Mouthfeel seems a bit flat. More watery than dry. Lacks distinction.

Suzie’s Organic Hard Seltzer KiwiMango

Brilliantly clear. Over-the-top tropical-fruit aroma—mango Jolly Rancher. Nothing left to mystery. Flavor brings big fruit with long retronasal linger; odd touch of coconut. Strained sweetness, slight acidity in the finish. Not sweet, but very fruit-forward. Well executed. Easy to drink.

J.K.'s Scrumpy / Almar Orchards Orchard Gate Gold Organic Hard Cider

**Aroma:** “Rustic, earthy complexity in the aroma, almost sweaty. Apple character isn’t cleanly expressed. Apple juice: sweet and simple. Over-ripe apple notes with some spiciness. A touch of acidity.” **Flavor:** “Medium-sweet red ripe apples. Some brown turbinado sugar notes. Acidity nicely balances the residual sugar. Under-attenuated. Tastes more like apple juice than cider. Light buttery diacetyl. Very soft palate. Finish even seems malty. Spiced candy-like sweetness.” **Overall:** “Soft apple flavor expresses much better in the flavor than in the aroma. Lovely complexity in the flavor, earthy and rich. Cloudy. Were it not for the light hint of fermented apple, I would assume this is raw apple cider. A bit too sweet.”

Samuel Smith's Organic Cider

“Great apple presentation throughout. A bit sweet on balance, lingers on the tongue with light floral spicy notes. Clean, bright, and pleasingly effervescent. Simple apple sweetness with just a touch of tannins. Very accessible and drinkable.”
