Tampa Bay Brewing Co Coral Head IPA

What the brewers say

“An ultra-crisp tropical bomb, backed up by balanced bitterness and smooth mouthfeel.”

What our panel thought

“Moderate apricot blends with tropical guava and a faint earthy hop note for a pleasant fruity aroma. The flavor also shows very ripe apricot character and moderate ripe guava and mango. Finishes dry with a medium body.”

What our editors thought

“Cantaloupe and grain in the nose, with a soft wheaty allure. A heavily rounded bitterness in the sip suggests anise with sweeter stone-fruit highlights.”

Tampa Bay Brewing Co Day Donkey

“Enticing tropical and berry hop aroma. Hop flavors of black currant and raspberry jam, with a low, sweet malt note. Some Noble character with a slight dankness. Finish is clean, semidry, and leaves one feeling happy.”

Tampa Bay Brewing Co Hop Silo 24

“Aromatics are insubstantial both from an IPA and a fruit perspective, but the flavor is a completely different character—grips of fruit that come together in a zippy, fresh, and incredibly interesting execution. Muted fruity citrus notes emerge out of an otherwise dank and earthy aroma, but the flavor immediately makes a pleasant left turn and leans hard into fruity tropical sweetness with a balancing bitterness to hold it all together. The beer doesn’t forget its roots, still grounded with bitterness through a citrusy hop-forward flavor. Citrus, peach, and strawberry blend with pine and earthy notes to create a fun and balanced flavor that is wildly discordant with the aroma. A tale of two experiences.”

Prison City Brewing Super Modified

“Lemon and orange dominate the nose. Sweet melon in the flavor with a slight sharp pineapple bite in the middle that lingers into the finish, joined by a pink lemonade. The balance tips toward an effervescent sweetness that lingers on the tongue.”
