What the brewers say

Hazy IPA

What our panel thought

Aroma of citrus and some dank hoppiness. The nose contains pear, canned fruit cocktail, lychee, guava, a little crunch of apple. Orange and pear undertones, but the fruit notes are subdued. Flavor is pomme-like, like a dry, white wine. Moderate malt backbone adds a breadiness for the hops flavors to play off of. Not quite a fruit bomb, but the citrus notes and bitterness still make an enjoyable beer. A little astringency and some hot fumes on the exhale. The dryness and bitterness intertwine to make for a white fruit jubilee. This beer has a floral piquancy that a wine lover might be keen for. Hazy without being thick.

What our editors thought

Fleshy jackfruit, lime, and a bit of pineapple in the aroma with a touch of tomato. More grape-adjacent in the flavor, as the sweet body hovers over the very light pith bitterness. Broad and undefined, a bit muted.
