Three Taverns Brewery Cream Weaver

What the brewers say

“A tart liquid expression of the orange creamsicle.”

What our panel thought

“Cream-soda aroma with noticeable tangerine. Pithy, almost grassy character cuts the soda quality a bit, though still decidedly sweet. Bright citrus tartness throughout, with layered orange flavor highlighted by light vanilla. It keeps you coming back to it.”

What our editors thought

“Orange creamsicle with a curious woody vanilla nose. The sip is unabashedly sweet, with high-key tangerine citrus. The lower carbonation departs quickly, leaving it more sweet fruit drink than beer.”

Maplewood Brewing Company Fizzle Drizzle Cherry Limeade

“The beer pours a bold ruby-red with an off-white foam that has hints of pink. Smells like a Sonic cherry limeade, complete with the prickly bit from the carbonation. Intensely sour, but also intensely sweet—almost entering the orbit of cherry syrup. Limeade and Jolly Rancher cherry. No real malt character. Full in the mouth, but not cloying. The alcohol is very present, but in line with the aggressive sweet and sour flavors. Finish is sour and full of cherry-citrus flavor that lingers on the tongue.”

Halfway Crooks Beer Zero Cool

“Bright lemon, candied lemon, rosemary notes in the aroma. Smooth, crisp flavor, with lemon zest and lemon flesh dominating a low bread backbone. Rosemary notes show up later and linger into a lemony herbal finish.”

Highland Park Brewery Green Chimera

“Big citrus notes with a very enjoyable sour quality lingering on the tongue. Yeast spiciness underneath is very subtle. Limoncello-heavy nose, light tart lime, and a hint of grass clippings.”
