What the brewers say

“Modern IPA dry-hopped with Mosaic and Citra.”

What our panel thought

“Simple aroma of white peach and grapefruit. A fruity, lightly earthy bitterness balances the crisp, sweet-leaning body. Has a rather snappier bite than the nose would have perhaps indicated. Whisps of ethanol. Lingering bitterness carries through the finish. Surprisingly brilliant clarity. West Coast hazy!”

What our editors thought

“Barley grain and fleshy stone fruit in the nose, almost pulpy. Chalky, with a drying bitterness offsetting the lighter fruit notes in the sip.”

Trophy Brewing Company Trophy Partner

“Citrus and pine on the nose with notes of dill, black pepper, and light grass in the background. First sip offers up a bit of a malty twist: light biscuit, pie crust, and cracker, then moderate hop bitterness with orange, grapefruit, light mango, stone fruit. Light afterthoughts of black pepper and pine. Finishes with a slight sweetness.”

Incendiary Brewing Company Head in the Clouds

“Soft bright haze. Tightly woven orange and vanilla notes on the nose. Surprising dash of bitterness greets you in the front of the sip. Orange peel, a touch of pith, grapefruit. Lack of depth on the finish with the citrus-hop notes rising above a soft and disappearing malt structure.”

Trophy Brewing Company Oktrophyfest

“Fairly big biscuity and crackery malt notes start the aroma. Light floral-hop aroma with notes of dill. The flavor is malt-centric—crackers and fresh-baked bread—with herbal hop and dill notes showing up later into the finish. Finishes dry. A moderate bittering balances the malt sweetness.”
