Unsung Brewing Company Let it In

What the brewers say

“West Coast with Enigma and Strata hops.”

What our panel thought

“Loads of garlic, onion, and green pepper burst out of the aroma with some undertones of pine and light dankness. Citrus, melon, pine, and dank bring back San Diego memories. A brief, initial malty sweetness is quickly cut by the piney, citrus, and onion-like bitterness, which leads to a lightly bitter and mouth-coating finish.”

What our editors thought

“Traditional in its citrus-pine axis with a hefty herbal spice. In the sip, a structure defined more by zippy carb and less by intense bitterness offsets the orange-caramel sweetness.”

The Brewery LBK LBK IPA

“Light bread-crust malt supports an aroma of tropical guava and mango, along with moderate overripe peach. The flavor also has a light bread-crust base with the overripe peach, but guava and papaya notes balance out nicely. Moderately bitter, but quite smooth into a very fruity, slightly sweet, and lingering long finish.”

Liquid Mechanics Brewing Company Lucid AF

“Complex hop profile with hints of candied orange, peach, pine, and dark cherry dances on top of a light bready malt backbone. Medium crackery malt notes in the flavor are a bit more prominent and distract a bit from the citrus and light pine hops. A substantial, but smooth, bitterness grabs hold and doesn’t let go until well into the piney finish.”

Unsung Brewing Company Punch Bowl 2021

“Hawaiian Punch and blue raspberry on the nose—very bright. Tangerine and berry flavors play respectfully and harmoniously. Well executed in the balance of flavor intensity and sourness.”
