What the brewers say

“We took our base stout recipe and conditioned it on cinnamon toast cereal, stroopwafels, cacao nib, vanilla bean, marshmallow, cinnamon.”

What our panel thought

“Notes of gingerbread, all spice, cinnamon, and subtle hints of raisin and chocolate create a wildly complex aroma reminiscent of a holiday cookie-baking session. The gingerbread notes burst out of the flavor creating a nice blast of ginger-like spice that is supported by layers of cinnamon, chocolate, raisin. That spice character lingers well into the finish, which is quite long, given its rather silky and somewhat thick mouthfeel. Ginger snaps in beer form!”

What our editors thought

“Spicy nose with chocolate cinnamon and an almost rosy herbal complexion. The sip pushes clean cinnamon spice with a holiday-chocolate vibe and a touch of piloncillo. Heavy handed on the spice, but it doesn’t feel all real.”
