Wander Back Beerworks Wander Back Lager

What the brewers say

Wander Back Lager is brewed with 100% locally grown and malted Rabbit Hill Farms Pilsner malt with a single decoction, hopped with Mittelfrüh and Saaz and appropriately lagered.

What our panel thought

Pleasant light cracker notes blend well with some bright noble hop aromatics in the nose. Fresh light hay notes with a kiss of classic floral notes invite you in to drink. The sip is lively and bright with just a hint of floral hops to ground things. Clean, soft and fresh white dough. It finishes crisp with a light bitterness that lingers just enough to remember it into the next sip.

What our editors thought

Strong sulfur note in the aroma with slight malt input that produces a bit of stone fruit essence—a touch similar to traditional Berliner Weisse, more light and fruity than Noble-hop-driven. Stronger in the flavor, as herbal and noble hop notes find a tight but elegant balance against the clean and light malt sweetness.
